Info from McBride's of Arkansas family group sheets to Larry Johnson email from Larry Johnson 15 Sep 99 states "my first cousin, Dianne Croak recently sent me a message wherein she noted an Isaac McBride married to Mary Jane Holderfield 4/18/1850 in Wilson Co, TN. Wilson Co. TN marriages shows Abraham (m. 1816), Daniel (m.1848), Isaac (m.1850), and Pleasant( m.1847)McBride. We believe this Isaac McBride may be our Great,Great Grandfather, Isaac Litt McBride, born 1830 who lived in Johnson Co, Ill (1860 Census) near relations, Abraham, Pleasant and Jessie McBride. They apparently left Illinois and moved south to AR and TX. We have recently made contact with a cousin in Nevada Co, AR who confirmed our family connection and also spoke of other cousins who live in East TX. Isaac Litt McBride is buried in the Caney/Morris Cemetery, Nevada Co, AR near his son, John Daniel McBride. "

Email from Larry 17 Sep 1999 states a message from a Dale McBride "Isaac and Mary Jane McBride moved to southern portion of Illinois with the Holderfields during their time there...they had some children...and some point, she died...and Isaac remarried and had some more children before moving to TX in the 1880's. It is known that two sons Frederick Jacob and John Daniel were born in Illinois" (Barb's note: 1870 census shows Daniel b. in TN. Isaac's wife,Jane was on 1870 census but must have been second or 3rd wife because wife is listed Nancy I or J on 1860 census)

They knew nothing of Thomas Pleas' family but shared info on Isaac and John Daniel. See notes on their records. 2.06 Wallace is 85 yrs. He said he never knew Isaac but he did know that Isaac lived in east TX around Marshall, TX at one time and he died in TX but they took him back to AR to bury him. Note: Isaac is buried in the Caney Cemetery in AR but a stone was put there later. There are no dates on it. 1900 Census of Tom P. shows his father and mother born in IL. The story Willard McBride wrote me( he died about 197_ something. He said in his letter answering my McBride information was "Jake McBride, (Fed. Jacob McBride) recognized his Dad's dog baying ( hope that is the way you spell it) in Cypress bottom when His father Isaac McBride first came to East Texas, and went to find the dog and sure enough, it was his Dad." As you know, later Isaac McBride went to Ark, per the information I sent you as well as you getting the Ark. family----even about the log cabin he was suppose to have built. Abraham McBride

No authentic documents have been found, that I am aware, that show Abraham is the father of Jesse C, Mary Jane, Pleasant M, Isaac Litt, Abraham, and Thomas Anderson McBride. However, my reasons for believing he is their father are:

1. Abraham is shown in Wilson County, Tennessee on the 1804 Tax Lists. Also, listed there are James McBride listed in Capt. Cannon's District. (The first list of taxpayers in Wilson County was divided by captain's companies; these were commanded by Kanah Fakals (Elkanah Echols), William Lancaster, Elisha Dillard, Solomon Harpole, and James Anderson.

2. There are several Abraham McBride's in the family which leads me to believe they were named after their grandfather.

3. To be continued.
